CIDH Attends ARC Summit in Israel

ARC SUMMIT 2022
ARC–which is short for accelerate, redesign, and collaborate–encompasses a global ecosystem with a mission that aims to roll out game-changing solutions. The one-of-a-kind in-person event provides a fantastic opportunity for networking and engagement across partners, including academic medical centers, startup companies, corporate companies, venture capital firms, and others. The event covers themes that are top of mind today, such as challenges in remote care, cybersecurity in digital health, real-world evidence, and explainability in artificial intelligence. Learn more here.
In June, CIDH’s Nathaniel Sims, MD, Senior Advisor, and Eran Bechor, Project Coordinator, Strategic Alliance Initiative, along with colleagues Sunny Eappen, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and Yonatan Keschner, MD, MHCM, Associate Director, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Springboard Studio, had the opportunity to attend the ARC Summit Conference in Israel. The event showcased key healthcare themes such as open innovation, challenges in remote care, data partnerships to drive real-world evidence, virtualization in healthcare, and big data and artificial intelligence.

The conference convened healthcare professionals to learn about Sheba Medical Center’s ARC Strategy and its collaboration with Israeli startups and healthcare organizations worldwide. The ARC Innovation Center focuses on identifying unmet clinical needs and then, through rapid development cycles, creates solutions and products that can be brought to market.
Dr. Sims and Eran attended many exciting panels and met with 6 Israeli start-up companies looking to collaborate with MGH.
As an Israeli citizen and former soldier in the Israel Defense Forces Medical Corps, Eran is familiar with the Israeli start-up ecosystem. He was enthusiastic to see significant growth of innovation in the digital health sector and an increased effort to collaborate with the local hospitals and HMOs, as well as health systems and organizations around the world.
The second day of the conference was held at Sheba Medical Center and provided an opportunity for our CIDH team members to experience first-hand how the future of medicine is being revolutionized through live demos by ARC collaborators!
A favorite demo used a VR headset to conduct physical therapy exercises at the Center for Advanced Technologies in Rehabilitation at Sheba. The team returned to Boston with many ideas and inspiration for our work with MGH researchers.
