Mass General Lab of Computer Science (LCS)
Given the initial lack of knowledge about the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), numerous clinical studies and trials were launched in efforts to help characterize the disease and study therapeutic interventions. However, patient recruitment and enrollment has always been time-consuming, and due to the pandemic, the process was especially difficult and delayed projects.
Mass General’s Laboratory of Computer Science (LCS) had previously developed a solution called Rally with Partners, a consumer-facing, Kick-starter-like clinical research website. This platform was repurposed and deployed as Rally for COVID-19, for investigators to easily post open trials in a consumer-friendly way. Rally for COVID-19 efficiently arranged posts and highlights on COVID-19 projects, which helped accelerate recruitment and enrollment processes for critical studies across Mass General Brigham.
