The Virtual Visits program was designed to allow patients to conveniently see their provider and continue to receive care remotely during the COVID-19 crisis. Virtual Visits are conducted via a secure video or telephone conferencing platform, using Epic Integrated Zoom and other common technologies such as Standalone Zoom, Doxy.me, Microsoft Teams, or Apple FaceTime. Leading up to and during the surge of COVID-19 patients in Massachusetts, the Mass General Center for TeleHealth developed and expand telehealth options to increase patient access and protect our workforce during this unprecedented time. The CIDH team is proud to recognize the innovative solutions brought forward by the TeleHealth team, under the leadership of the Center’s Director and VP for Virtual Care Services at MGB, Dr. Lee Schwamm.
